Introduction - Stress?

An Unavoidable and Unfortunate state of mind where everything feels Blur. Stress! The rush of enhanced secretion of the stress hormones (Cortisol). Stress is simply, the way a body reacts or responses to the changes caused in the surroundings, it can be external as well as a internal, varies from an individual to another. Perspective plays a vital role in the 'response' task for the body, but often, a person cannot figure out or determine, he\she is suffering form a toxic state of stress, the determination of the causes is important to treat the affect of the cause.
Since we've got a rough idea of the question "What is Stress", the next few questions that arises are What are the signs of stress, a person should be looking for? How to handle Stress? How to deal with a stressful situation?

Imagine, if the whole population of the world is under-going stressful state, all types of people, all kinds of ages, from kids to adults, everyone is under "stress mode" but Does everyone know, that they are under stress? The answer is NO, half the entire population of the world may not even know, they are going through stress. To conduct a diagnosis of a disease, one has to acknowledge the signs and symptoms of the same. To find out a solution, one has to figure out the causes, reach to the root of the problem and pull it out.

When the problem is Stress itself, trying to acknowledge the causes, helps in eliminating it from the root. Stress is a wide term, and mostly found in the adults, the pressure from work, financial conditions, responsibilities, an undying worry of the future, For the job seekers, the pressure of interviews! Basically at every stage of life, a person is encountered with  Fear, Worry, Anxiety and ofcourse an endless stream of Stress. 

Stay away, from negativity!

What are the Signs and Symptoms of Stress?

Stress can effect a person Mentally, Emotionally and Physically too. For someone to know he/she is stressed, he/she has to cancel all the noise around and focus solely on the voice of what the body and mind says, Take a moment, stop running to catch a breath and take care of your mind and body.

Mental/ Emotional Signs -

Signs a person should consider attending to are -
  • Depression
  • Anxiety, loosing temper frequently
  • Unnecessary and constant thinking
  • Trouble with sleep/ Insomnia
  • Over/underwhelming emotions
  • Trouble focusing

Physical Signs -

  • Lethargic, Tiredness
  • Indigestion, Constipation
  • Drastic weight gain or loss
  • Intolerable Headaches
  • Strong increase or loss in Appetite
Question yourself with each symptom cross-check it, just to confirm whether you are dealing with stress or handling some kind of pressure at certain areas of your life. If the answer is NO then you took good care of yourself, give yourself a pat on the back! you deserve it. But the answer is YES, then there is an urgent need for it to be fixed, before you will lose yourself completely to the situations put in front of you, in simple words, before blasting like a 'pressure cooker'.


How to deal with Stress?

Stress is not like a habit, to get addicted to and later Quit! It can never be fully wiped out, from within, let's face it, but what one can do is, Manage it! Take control over mind and body, make a balance of it, sounds easy right?  But takes a lot of time and patience for one to do so. Remember, Everything's possible!
Managing the stress or dealing with stress?

Suggestions below -

  • Be Optimistic, always have a positive attitude;
  • Never try to control the happening of a certain event, have no control over a situation;
  • Plan and eat balanced diets;
  • Manage your time and deadlines efficiently
  • Plan your day, before starting it
  • Write positive affirmations about yourself
  • Spend time taking care of yourself, Self-care is important;
  • Surround yourself with people who uplift you;
  • Get 7-8 hours of Sleep;
  • Practice the art of Meditation, Yoga 
  • Exercise at least thrice a week;
  • Reach out for help, if going through some emotional distress;
  • Start your day with positive energy, cease the day!
  • Set Limits, in every aspect of life.
So, these are some suggestions that helps to calm the mind down, it will take time though, but the efforts will always be worth it.
